A new market. “Yamal LNG” delivered the first LNG consignment to Bangladesh

“Yamal LNG” shipped the first tanker consignment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh under the long-term contract with the concern “Total”. The consignment was delivered on the western route through the Suez Canal with transshipment at the Belgian terminal Zeebrugge from the ice class Arc7 gas carrier “Eduard Toll” to the gas carrier of conventional type. In accordance with the schedule, unloading of the tanker consignment was fulfilled at the Summit LNG terminal in Bangladesh. The information was given to the news agency “Sever-Press” in the press center of the company “NOVATEK”.
“Demand for LNG is continuously growing around the world, along with appearing of new consumer countries. Bangladesh started importing LNG just a year ago with commissioning of the first LNG terminal, and is now rapidly increasing consumption and regasification capacities”, said the first deputy chairman of the Board of “NOVATEK” Lev Feodosiev. “The low prime cost of our LNG and the efficient logistics model allow delivering LNG and successfully developing new markets around the world”.
“NOVATEK” is the largest independent producer of natural gas in Russia. In 2017 the company entered the international LNG market due to the successful launch of the project “Yamal LNG”.
