A Russian chess player Alexandra Goryachkina played a draw with a Chinese chess player Ju Wenjun in the opening game of the match for the title of the world chess champion.
The first game of the matchup held in Shanghai on the 5th of January ended in a draw on the 97th move, as RIA Novosti reports. Goryachkina played white.
The match for the women’s world chess crown consists of 12 games to be played from the 5th to the 24th of January. The first games will be held from the 5th to the 12th of January in Shanghai, the rest — from the 16th to the 24th of January in Vladivostok.
