Gas for the TurkStream gas pipeline will be delivered from extractive fields of Yamal. It was stated by Aleksey Miller, the chairman of the board of “Gazprom” at the opening ceremony of the gas pipeline.
According to him, implementation of the TurkStream project was conducted simultaneously on three sites — in Russia, in Turkey and in the Black Sea. The capacity of the gas pipeline is 31.5 milliard cubic meters of gas (per year).
According to Aleksey Miller, gas will be delivered from extractive fields of Western Siberia, and in particular from the Yamal Peninsula, where Gazprom has a new gas production center today. A new giant field — Bovanenkovskoye — was commissioned at full capacity in Yamal, and all three gas production facilities of the field with the total capacity 115 milliard cubic meters of gas were input to operation. And now a new extractive field of Yamal – Kharasaveyskoye — is in the queue. These two fields will provide gas deliveries for the next 110 years, Aleksey Miller said.
The opening ceremony of the TurkStream gas pipeline was held on the 8th of January. The event was attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov and other representatives of several states.
