“The country of reindeer” arrived in Priuralskiy district

The mobile exhibition project “The country of reindeer” was opened in the museum of local lore in Priuralskiy district.

Popularization of the image of reindeer is the aim of the exhibition. The brand role of reindeer in the region is enshrined in the official symbols – the white reindeer that symbolizes might and independence of the territory is depicted on the coat of arms of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. At that, the image of reindeer relates Yamal with other “countries of reindeer”.  

The exposition includes a part of authorial artworks by participants of the festival with the same name that took place last March in the main museum of Yamal as well as items from funds of the Museum and Exhibition Complex of Shemanovskiy.  

Paintings and graphic works, art objects and installations by various artists from Russia, Hungary and Estonia were created in front of the audience as part of contemporary art exhibition “The country of reindeer” during three days of the festival. That joint artistic statement of the artists formed the whole space — the country of reindeer.

In addition, the project “The country of reindeer” helps to actualize interest of young people in folk culture and modern art, formation of cultural and event environment within the tourist brand of the region.  

As it is reported to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” in the district museum, the exposition “The country of reindeer” will be exhibited in the museum of the settlement Aksarka till the 28^th of February, and then it will go to the museum in the settlement Yar-Salye, Yamalskiy district.
