Tundra dwellers of Yamalskiy and Nadymskiy districts were informed about state support measures, changes in federal legislation and adopted legal acts of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. They also discussed issues on use of pastures. Renat Pyak, the deputy director of the regional department for affairs of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North together with Eduard Yaungad, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Yamal, Viktor Yugai, the director of the department of agro-industrial complex and Yevgeniy Popov, the head of the veterinary service of the Autonomous Okrug held meetings with working brigades of the enterprise “Panayevskiy”.
Technical novelties were marked along with legislative innovations. Use of quadcopters is gaining popularity among private reindeer herders when grazing reindeer. Modern flying vehicles not only allow seeing the tundra from above, taking a video from the great height, admiring the unusual panorama, but also making sure that no reindeer strayed from the herd during the drive of reindeer herds. It was reported to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” in the department for affairs of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
However, it is known that norms of state accounting and state registration are foreseen for operation of quadcopters, depending on technical characteristics. For the present day this issue is being studied by employees of the department, and explanatory work on use of flying devices is being carried out for compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Tundra dwellers actively use fruits of the technological revolution. In their everyday life they use satellite dishes, TV sets, laptops, mobile and satellite phones. Taking into account the high cost of fuel for a gasoline generator, use of solar panels has become widespread in recent years. This practice was applied in Yamalskiy and Tazovskiy district by fishermen and reindeer herders living near water reservoirs. Previously, heavy structures of solar panels were used to a greater extent. With development of modern technologies, tundra dwellers started using lightweight lithium solar panels. They are convenient for transportation and allow saving fuel significantly.
The department is constantly working on study and introduction of new technologies into public life of reindeer herders and population leading the traditional way of life.
Renat Pyak also held the reception of citizens on personal issues in the village of Kutopyugan. Mostly, residents raised issues of housing provision, including for pensioners from indigenous ethnic minorities of the North, and registration in the unified information system of Yamal.
