Dmitry Artyukhov told about measures of support for students from tundra of Yamal

Now parents of students from among tundra-dwellers should not confirm work experience on the territory of Yamal any more. It was announced on the 7^th of February by the head of the region Dmitry Artyukhov within the annual report on the situation in the Autonomous Okrug.

As the head of the region explains, owing to the requirement to provide this document, students of higher education institutions, whose parents lead nomadic way of life in tundra, were not able to use the regional subsidy to pay for education.

Also, students, who study at a higher educational institution on “good” and “excellent”, can claim for the scholarship in the amount of 10 thousand rubles.

In his report, Dmitry Artyukhov reminds that the purchase price per 1 kilogram of reindeer meat of the first category was two times increased. It leads to two times increase in income of both private reindeer herders and reindeer-herding communities. Compensational payments for nomadic population were also increased.

“Since this year we are helping children from tundra families to enter the first year of the college. We two times increased the sum that is allocated annually to provide boarding school students with clothing and footwear”, the governor concluded.
