A chess player from Yamal Alexandra Goryachkina won the victory in the second round match of the third stage of the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix in Lausanne. Playing white chess pieces, she won the victory over her compatriot Alexandra Kostenyuk.
In the first round match Goryachkina played a draw with a Russian chess player Alina Kashlinskaya.
Alexandra Goryachkina and Nana Dzagnidze, who scored 1.5 points each, are the leaders by the results of the first two stages of the Women’s Grand Prix.
The third round matches are being played on the 4th of March. The FIDE Grand Prix in Lausanne will end on the 14 of March.
Alexandra Goryachkina is a two-time Russian chess champion. At the age of thirteen she became the youngest grandmaster among women in the world. In 2014 the chess player won the title of the world champion among juniors (sportswomen) under twenty years old. In the FIDE rating Goryachkina is ranked fourth, and Ju Wenjun is the second.
