Within Arctic and Antarctic Days in Moscow the talk will be about weather anomalies and mammoth cloning

The international forum “Arctic and Antarctic Days in Moscow”, which includes extensive business and cultural programs, will be held from the 20th to the 22nd of March. This time in cooperation with the Ministry of natural resources of the Russian Federation, the forum is being organized by the Ministry of development of the Far East and the Arctic, which was given the authority to develop the Arctic zone of Russia a year ago.
“The upcoming forum is a multi-faceted platform. First, it allows the Arctic territories and regions to present their potential: to acquaint residents and guests of the capital with specifics of culture and traditions, to tell about education and employment in the Arctic. Secondly, it allows representatives of federal structures, business on the Arctic territories and regional authorities, experts in various industries to come together and to discuss specific problems and prospects for development of the Arctic zone of Russia”, said Alexander Kozlov, the head of the Ministry of development of the Far East.
The program of events includes the plenary session with participation of the heads of the Ministry of development of the Far East and the Ministry of natural resources Alexander Kozlov and Dmitry Kobylkin. The Arctic Investor Day will also be held, as well as a number of sessions, including ones dedicated to development of tourism in the Arctic, improvement of living conditions in populated areas of the Arctic, environmental protection in the Arctic zone. Young activists participating in the forum will share success of their own volunteer projects and best practices. Also students will be able to communicate with Alexander Kozlov and Dmitry Kobylkin, as the press service of the Ministry of development of the Far East reports.
The participants and guests of the forum will also listen to popular scientific and just useful lectures. The guests of the Arctic Days will receive information about work of Russian, Japanese and Korean scientists on mammoth cloning. Then the open lecture on weather anomalies and influence of the Arctic on the Earth’s climate will be given by the Nobel Prize winner, one of the world’s leading experts on environmental change, Terence Callaghan from Great Britain.
The cultural program of the forum includes a number of photo exhibitions, film representations, presentations of arctic cuisine, the exhibition of motor vehicles and expedition equipment for travel and tourism in the Arctic, the theatrical show “Taymyr calls You”, master classes on ethnic crafts, choreography and playing folk instruments.
