Young patriots and diplomats from Yamal will visit the Dmitry Karbyshev School in Vienna

On the 11th of March Salekhard is hosting the in-person contest among students from the clubs of young diplomats for the travel to Vienna.
The competitive selection is being conducted in two stages: correspondence and in-person. At the first stage the young diplomats from Salekhard, Labytnangi and the settlement Kharp of Priuralskiy district presented the written work “My great-grandparents in the Great Patriotic War” in English and Russian. At the second (in-person) session they are speaking at the round table on the theme “Maintaining and strengthening of international peace and security”. The discussion is being conducted in English and Russian. The contest commission is evaluating performances and participation of the young diplomats according to criteria such as monologue, dialogic speech and communication skills. According to the results of the selection, on the 16th of March eight winners will be determined, they will go to the festive events in Vienna. The results of the contest will be published on the website of the department of external relations of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
Veronika Kobaliani, a tenth-grade student from Labytnangi, has been studying for the first year at the club of young diplomats, and she likes it very much.
“In my speech I touched upon the topic of countries-intermediaries and replacement of the regular army with anti-terrorist units. It is already used in Japan”, she said.
While the exact date of the travel is unknown. As explained by the head of the office for development of international cooperation and exports under the regional department of external relations Yevgeniya Titovskaya, in connection with the current circumstances on coronavirus, many international events, especially with participation of children, are postponed, but not canceled.
“We hope that the terms will be clarified in the near future”, she said.
Within the travel the young residents of Yamal will visit the Russian school named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Dmitry Karbyshev at the Russian Embassy in Vienna and other educational and cultural institutions.
“It will be a patriotic and diplomatic travel”, Yevgeniya Titovskaya explained.
Now in Yamal the clubs of young diplomats operate in Salekhard, Labytnangi, Noviy Urengoy, and in the settlement Kharp in Priuralskiy district. About 70 people study there.
