“Citizens have time to study the document”. The Parliament of Yamal approved amendments to the Constitution

The Legislative Assembly of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug supported the presidential draft law on the amendments to the Constitution of Russia. 19 deputies supported adoption of the law in the final reading, 1 — against it, and 1 — abstained.
The Chairman of the Committee for state structure, local government and public relations of the regional Parliament Eduard Yaungad announced that, by the results of the discussion, which had taken place a day before, the Committee recommended the Legislative Assembly to approve the law of the Russian Federation on the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation “On improvement of regulation of certain issues in organizing and functioning of public authorities”.
According to Viktor Kazarin, the head of the United Russia (“Yedinaya Rossiya”) parliamentary group in the Legislative Assembly of Yamal, the party is ready to support the amendments. The same statement was made by a representative of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR). Following the results of the vote, the Parliament approved the amendments to the Basic law of the country. The head of the Yamal branch of the Communist Party, Yelena Kukushkina, who had opposed adoption of the amendments, finally abstained. Valery Stepanchenko from the party “Spravedlivaya Rossiya” voted “against”.
As it should be reminded, on the 11th of March the State Duma and the Federation Council approved the draft law.
“Till the 22nd of April citizens have time to study the document”, as the chairman of the Legislative Assembly Sergey Yamkin summed up.
According to the latest data, 63 of 85 subjects of the Russian Federation supported the amendments to the Constitution. This is more than the required minimum that makes two-thirds of the regions. Now the constitutional court should check the law.
