A chess player from Yamal Alexandra Goryachkina won the victory with white pieces over a chess player from China Ju Wenjun at the third stage of the Grand Prix of the International Chess Federation in Lausanne. As it should be reminded, in January the sportswomen held the match for the women’s champion chess crown, which was won by the chess player from China.
After 10 rounds Goryachkina shares the first line with a sportswoman from Georgia Nana Dzagnidze. They have 6.5 points each. They are followed by Zhansaya Abdumalik from Kazakhstan, Anna Muzychuk and Maria Muzychuk from Ukraine, Alina Kashlinskaya from Russia.
The winner of the Grand Prix stage in Lausanne will be defined on the 14th of March. The final tournament of the series is scheduled for the 2nd-15th of May on Sardinia. 16 chess players are participating in the competition; each of them must perform in three stages. Two contestants, who would score the most points at the end of the Grand Prix, will qualify for the tournament of candidates in 2021.
