Sobsky fish-farming plant and the fish-processing plant of Salekhard put production of joint products on a stream. The first consignments of the rainbow trout grown by fish farmers of Sobsky plant were processed at the plant of Salekhard two weeks ago. Several types of products were manufactured — lightly salted, cold and hot smoked, two types of preserves — in vinegar and oil and with addition of northern berries.
“Since Sobsky fish-farming plant is located close to Salekhard, we work exclusively with the chilled trout, this is very important for receiving a qualitative product. The method of salting for this fish species was developed specifically, it requires a special approach”, said Olga Zhuga, the chief technologist of the plant of Salekhard.
Sobsky fish-farming plant started growing commercial fish at the end of 2018. In September last year sale of the locally produced rainbow trout was started in the settlement Kharp, the towns Labytnangi and Salekhard. In 2020 Sobsky fish-farming plant will supply 7.5 tonnes of the rainbow trout for processing, but the fish-processing plant of Salekhard will be ready to accept larger amounts. The two companies plan not to stop on the achieved results and to increase the amount of deliveries and processing in 2021.
As it should be noted, the rainbow trout is a traditional form of fish-farming in all countries of the world. Due to the high adaptive ability of this fish species to external conditions, its ability to actively consume food and to give high growth of body weight, as well as its taste qualities, it received well-deserved recognition by fish farmers. It is widely used for dietary nutrition.
