Vladimir Rybarchuk, the head of a peasant farm holding from Shuryshkarskiy district, received refrigeration equipment for freezing berries and fish with the amount of more than 10 tonnes under the program of development of agro-industrial complex. He thanked the participants of the project “Rossiyskoye Selo” (Russian rural area) and representatives of the Union of reindeer herders of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug for their help in preparation of the necessary documents. At the present time the representatives of the public organization plan to help the farmer in development of branded packaging, an emblem and in the hope that marketing activities will increase the amount of products sale.
Timur Akchurin, the executive director of the Union of reindeer herders of Yamal, also held negotiations with Yan Turov, the director of the non-profit organization “The foundation for economic programs” of Arkhangelsk Oblast. The sides agreed to promote wild-growing plants on interregional and international markets, including with support from the Foundation — a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
According to the representative of the public organization, several modular production and household complexes were previously purchased and installed in small populated areas within the project on picking and processing of wild-growing plants in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Further work depends on development of that type of activity. One of these mini-complexes is currently used by the farmer Vladimir Rybarchuk.
“If to consider rich natural potential of the Autonomous Okrug, then picking and processing of wild-growing plants is one of promising areas of agro-industrial production. Development of small forms of enterprises on rural areas allows creating jobs, providing residents with fresh food products”, said Timur Akchurin in an interview with a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press”. – “I believe that it needs to continue extension of the range of state support measures for them. For example, to subsidize housing tariffs and transport costs, to organize a contest for grants in picking and processing of wild-growing plants. Use of wild-growing plants is an integral part of the traditional lifestyle of northern peoples, as well as an important additional source of income for population”.
