NOVATEK plans to produce about 300 thousand tonnes of stable gas condensate and 5 million tonnes of LNG per year at “Obsky LNG”. It is reported by the economic information agency “Prime” with the reference to the company’s report.
“Extension of the company’s portfolio of LNG projects is continued: in 2019 NOVATEK started working on the project “Obsky LNG”, which will operate on the modified licensed technology of gas liquefaction of NOVATEK. The capacity of the plant will make 5 million tonnes of LNG per year, the maximum production amount of stable gas condensate — 0.3 million (300 thousand) tonnes per year”, as it is said in the report.
In 2019 development of the main technical solutions (FEED — Front End Engineering Design) was completed, and design and selection of the main equipment was started with the broad involvement of Russian manufacturers.
NOVATEK plans the pilot project based on its own liquefaction technology “Arctic Cascade” — the plant “Obsky LNG” near the port of Sabetta. Verkhne-Tiuteyskoye and the West-Seyakhinskoye fields in Yamal will be its resource base. Within the project it was decided to build two technological lines for 2 million 500 thousand tonnes of LNG each (5 million tonnes per year). It is planned to launch the first line in late 2022 or early 2023, and the second line will be launched in other six-nine months.
