The song “Victory Day” was translated into 19 indigenous languages

The educational patriotic action on translation and performance of the Victory anthem “Victory Day” and creation of the national collection of poems about the Great Patriotic War in languages of indigenous peoples of Russia, the entire post-Soviet space and world languages “The voice of the Victory” (#ГолосПобеды2020) was launched.
From the 9th to the 11th of May of 2020 any person can visit the website pobeda-2020.ru in the section “ГолосПобеды2020”, select a language of interest, listen to the audio track of the song “Victory Day” with subtitles in the karaoke mode. Also it is possible to create own video recording on the website and to share it with friends – there is the mode, when a user can simultaneously make a record, see himself/herself, see the lyrics of the song and hear the audio track. The best videos will be published on the website Диктантпобеды.рф. The information was given in the information center of the Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East.
“Regional branches of the Association and their presidents have done the excellent work. I thank everyone, who participated. Quick reaction and well-coordinated preparation for the action shows that our languages are alive, and we should continue to develop them and put all our efforts into that work. I call you to participate in “The Voice of the Victory 2020” and to sing the anthem of our main holiday in your own language”, said the president of the Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East Grigory Ledkov.
In total texts in 19 indigenous languages were digitalized. The lyrics of the song “Victory Day” are presented in two versions in Evenk, Dolgan, Khanty, Tyva, Selkoup languages and in one version in Veps, Nivkh, Komi, Nanai, Nenets, Chukchi, Itelmen, Sami, Koryak, Komi-Izhma, Shor, Kumandin and Mansi languages.
The first vice-president of the Association Nina Veysalova adds that original texts in languages of indigenous peoples are presented in the project “The Voice of the Victory”.
“Some of the translations are authorial versions by native speakers of various dialects. We collected texts, transcriptions for translation and made original recordings. What makes these texts unique is that they are examples of living indigenous languages in all their linguistic diversity. The project will live and develop further”, commented Nina Veysalova.
According to the results of the action “The Voice of the Victory” it is planned to form the national collection of poems about the Great Patriotic War in languages of indigenous peoples of the multinational state and the entire post-Soviet space united with one historical memory.
The organizers of the action are: the organizing committee “Nasha Pobeda” (Our Victory), Yedinaya Rossiya (United Russia), the Federal Agency for the Affairs of Nationalities of Russia. The partners are: federal national and cultural autonomies of Russia and ethno-cultural organizations, the Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East, the international educational center English First, ANO Zvezda — Lomonosov International Club.
