Drilling of the first production well was started in Kharasaveyskoye field of the Yamal gas production center. Well No. 4051 will be drilled to the depth 2540 meters; this is the first of eleven gas wells in cluster No.5. In 2020 it is planned to finish drilling of 16 wells.
Full-scale development of Kharasaveyskoye field was launched on the 20th of March in 2019 by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. In 2019 it was planned to fill roads and arrange sites for production facilities, and in June of 2020 – to start drilling of production wells.
Kharasaveyskoye is the second, after Bovanenkovskoye, supporting field of the Yamal gas production center created by Gazprom. The Yamal center is of key importance for development of the Russian gas industry in the XXI century. The field is mainly located on land, partially — in the Kara Sea. By the size of gas reserves — about 2 trillion cubic meters — it belongs to the category of unique.
Gas extraction in Kharasaveyskoye field will be started in 2023, and the project level of extraction from Cenomanian-Aptian deposits is 32 milliard cubic meters of gas per year. In the future the company will develop more deeply located Neocomian-Jurassic deposits.
The project of development of Kharasaveyskoye field is designed for 108 years — gas will be extracted until 2131, as the information department of Gazprom informs. Cenomanian-Aptian deposits are the primary object of development. It provides for construction of production gas wells, a gas treatment unit, a booster compressor station, transport and energy infrastructure. Wells with horizontal tailing-in for development of the offshore part will be drilled from the shore.
The 106-kilometer long gas pipeline will be built to Bovanenkovskoye field for transportation of gas extracted in Kharasaveyskoye. Then the gas will be delivered to the Unified gas supply system of Russia.
