On the 16th of June training was held for volunteers, who will provide assistance to voting participants and members of commissions during the All-Russian voting on amendments to the Basic Law. Representatives of the regional election committee and activists of the volunteer movement “Medical Volunteers” were spokespeople. The meeting was held on the Zoom platform.
The representatives of the election commission told the volunteers what tasks they would face and how the voting would be held. The volunteers will welcome voting participants at the entrance to voting stations, measure the temperature, offer personal protective equipment and a disposable pen for the voting. In addition, exactly the volunteers will monitor the distance between voting participants and will help citizens navigate a voting room.
The medical volunteers told the participants of training about observation of safety measures during the pandemic. The volunteers learned the algorithm for use of personal protective equipment, the rules for temperature measuring with a non-contact thermometer and how to disinfect gadgets if they are used during work on a voting station.
The chairman of the regional election commission Andrey Gibert commented: “We value every volunteer, who agreed to help election commissions during the days of the All-Russian voting. In today’s difficult epidemiological conditions their help is more valuable than ever for election commissions. Our common task is to create the safest conditions for health of residents of Yamal on voting stations. I am sure that together we will cope with the task”.
About 600 volunteers agreed to help voting participants and commissions from the 25th of June to the 1st of July, during the voting days on regional voting stations. The work on forming of the pool of volunteers is organized by the state budgetary institution of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug “Arctic center for volunteering”.
Earlier territorial election commissions received personal protective equipment: masks, gloves, antiseptics. Each voting participant will receive an individual ballpoint pen, and an antiseptic mat will be laid at the entrance to a voting station. Igor Gorelik, the deputy chairman of the regional election commission, told in detail about safety measures the day before. It should be reminded that also it is possible to vote without leaving home.
