Military ecologists are restoring order on the Marresale Cape

Soldiers of the ecological platoon of the Central Military District started cleaning the territory of the Marresale Cape on the Yamal Peninsula. During the first day of work they collected about 60 tonnes of ecological garbage, basically scrap metal.
In total it is planned to collect 676 tonnes of garbage on the territory of 4 hectares by forces of the ecological platoon on the Marresale Cape. 32 military men, as well as 23 units of machinery are involved in the work, as the press service of the Central Military District reports. The scrap metal will be cut, stored and delivered to temporary storage facilities. A field autonomic camp was set up on the Marresale Cape, it includes places of accommodation, a meal station and a field bakery. The military men are provided with a special form of clothing: winter and summer technical uniforms, insulated footwear. All the soldiers of the ecological platoon are carefully instructed about safety measures when working in the Arctic zone, including about use of special equipment for cutting and pressing of metal.
