As of 12-00 on the Unified Voting Day on amendments to the Basic law of the Russian Federation 272 thousand 389 residents of Yamal expressed their will. It is 73.87% of the voting population of the region.
91% of residents of Krasnoselkoup district arrived to voting stations. Attendance in more than 80% is registered in 4 districts: Yamalskiy, Priuralskiy, Tazovskiy and Shuryshkarskiy. The towns Labytnangi, Muravlenko, Gubkinskiy, Noyabrsk and also Purovskiy and Nadymskiy districts have more than 70%. The capitals – regional and gas – have almost equal number of voters 69% and 68%, respectively. The voting in hard-to-reach populated areas was completed, 39 thousand 447 people made their choice there. The information was given by the chairman of the regional election commission Andrey Gibert within the briefing at the information center of the election commission.
According to him, more than 1000 observers are working at voting stations, 420 volunteers are assisting to keep safety measures. Votes in Noyabrsk will be calculated with help of 12 ballot paper processing systems.
The number of residents, who want to vote at home, grew: 110 thousand 128 applications were received.
The chairman of the Public Chamber of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Zayakin informed journalists that, in addition to observation of the voting procedure, the observers would monitor calculation of votes. The calculation procedure will be started after voting stations are closed. There are no violations at voting stations, and all working remarks are corrected at a place.
In the videoconference mode the head of the local territorial election commission Oksana Fedoriv told about the course of the voting in the gas capital.
“40 voting stations have been opened since morning. By this hour 68% of citizens voted in Noviy Urengoy. The voting process is taking place normally. 93 observers came to voting stations”, she said. According to Fedoriv, the voting at home was very popular among citizens.
