This season Sobsky fish-farming plant released more than 20 million fingerlings of valuable whitefish species — muksun and chir — into water bodies of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The closing of the fish breeding season will take place in mid-September: Sobsky fish-farming plant will release about 250 thousand fingerlings of chir (the broad whitefish) with the weight of more than 10 grams into the Taz River; they were grown in fish cage lines in natural conditions. Construction of objects of Tazovskiy fish-farming plant is continued. It will be completed by the end of this year. The information was given on the 3rd of September by the director of the department of agro-industrial complex of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Viktor Yugai at the press conference.
The head of the department noted that the technology of growing of young whitefish in a fish catch line was very effective. The technology allows growing large juveniles of fish in natural conditions, and science confirms that the survival rate of such juveniles after release into the wild is very high.
Viktor Yugai reminds: the results of genetic studies of the muksun population have been recently obtained. Science recognizes that populations in the rivers Ob and Taz are identical, and the markers of the muksun breeding stock located in Sobsky fish-farming plant do not differ from them in any way. That is, science confirms that the muksun juveniles, which will be obtained from the breeding stock of the fish-farming plant, can be used to restore the population of the Taz basin. It is planned to start the work next year. Also next year it is planned to continue artificial reproduction in the fish cage lines, which showed good efficiency. The fish cage lines will be placed on the spawning rivers of Shuryshkarskiy and Priuralskiy districts, and in the future — Krasnoselkoup district.
