Dmitriy Kobylkin gave awards to the best sportspersons of the Arctic Winter Games

The best sportspersons of the Arctic Winter Games were awarded in Salekhard. The governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitriy Kobylkin gave awards to 38 winners and prizewinners of the international competitions.

He congratulated the young sportspersons with high achievements and noted that this year the team of Yamal showed triumphal results on the Arctic Winter Games: 134 medals, including 55 golden medals, 58 silver medals and 21 bronze medals. The team of the region defended the honor of Yamal and the whole Russia. The sportspersons coped with this mission worthily. By the words of the director of the department of international and external economic relations of Yamal Alexander Mazharov, the sportspersons of Yamal showed the best result and for the first time in the Arctic Winter Games won the second place in the ranking of teams. In the new kind of sport – running on snowshoes the sportspersons became the owners of 25 medals, in figure-skating – 22 medals, in ski race – 23 awards. This is a very good result, as he underlines. As Dmitriy Kobylkin notes he is very glad that such talented sportspersons live and train in the region. He congratulated the sportspersons with the deserved awards.
