Dmitry Kobylkin explained the leading position of Yamal on the amount of investments

Investments on the territory of Yamal make the lion’s share - 72 percent of all investments to the major capital in the Arctic zone of Russia.

The total amount of investments to the major capital throughout the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation by the results of 2016 of Rosstat (the Federal State Statistic Service) is about 1 trillion and 500 milliard rubles. More than one trillion rubles of them were invested to Yamal. The absolute leadership of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is stipulated with two factors. The first is in active economic development of the region. Comfortable business environment created in the region, favorable conditions, unique resource potential of Yamal contribute to its large-scale industrial and infrastructural development. Large-scale industrial and infrastructural projects were input to operation in the region. Among them there are the following: the oil terminal “Vorota Arktiki”, capacities of Bovanenkovo field, also Yarudeyskoye, Pyakyakhinskoye, East-Messoyakha, the pipelines Bovanenkovo - Ukhta-2 and Zapolyarye -Purpe were input to industrial operation, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs. Active construction of the plant on production of liquefied natural gas on the project “Yamal LNG” is taking place, construction of the new Arctic seaport of Sabetta is coming to its completion. The second aspect is in active social development of the region. Despite negative financial and economic conditions, 2016 in Yamal was a year of active construction. Last year more than 228 thousand square meters of housing were input to operation. In addition, about 23 thousand square meters were input to operation at the expense of individual builders. Five sports objects, four educational institutions, medical-obstetrical centers, roads, objects of transport, communication, agricultural processing and many others were opened in Yamal in 2016. Extensive measures on support of business and clear rules of the game act in the region, as the governor of Yamal Dmitry Kobylkin notes. The plans of the government of Russia to spread the mode of territories of advanced development on the Arctic zone will be an additional opportunity for growth of economic potential of Yamal. It is important for fulfillment of infrastructural projects and attracting of private investors, what stays the priority for the coming years. The task of the region is in maximum to readjust, having started up a new model of development, decreasing dependence of the territory on mono-raw-material economy, developing deep processing and transport infrastructure. It needs to remember three postulates: worthy quality of life for people of Yamal, unchangeable rules for business and creation of additional opportunities for advanced development of Yamal, as the governor says.
