The 90th anniversary of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The results of the photo-contest

The main museum of Yamal (the Museum and Exhibition complex of Shemanovskiy) summed up the results of the full-scale creative photo-contest “90 moments of Yamal” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the region. During three months the participants sent more than 800 photographs in 4 nominations.

The nomination “EthnoYamal” includes images opening ethnic originality of peoples residing on the territory of Yamal. Photographs reflective pages of exploration and development of the arctic region are presented in the nomination “Yamal Industrial”. Photographs of memorable places, landscapes and animals of Yamal participated in the nomination “Other View”. And the nomination “Symbols of Yamal” demonstrates objects and phenomena brightly characterizing specifics of the region.

As it is noted in the regional museum, the contest aroused interest not only among residents of Yamal but also photographers from different regions of Russia, who decided to share their impressions of their travel to our land. Many interesting works were presented, unusual camera angles, unique natural phenomena and usual life of ordinary northerners, which is so amazing for guests of our region. In the photos it is possible to see the entire Yamal: from the Kara Sea to the southern forests of the region.

Winners and prizewinners will be awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes.

The organizers will make the exhibition of 90 best photographs and the photo-album “90 moments of Yamal” that will be given to the participants and sent to all libraries of the region.

The first place in the nomination “EthnoYamal” was taken by Alexander Romanov “Teddy-bear” (Tyumen);

The first place in the nomination “Yamal Industrial” – Sergey Tatarskikh “The Gates of the Arctic” (Saint-Petersburg);

The first place in the nomination “Other View” – Vitaliy Dvoryachenko “Breakfast” (Noviy Urengoy);

The first place in the nomination “Symbols of Yamal” – Sergey Rusanov “Home that is always with you” (Tyumen); The second place in the nomination “Symbols of Yamal” - Bhupathi Raju Vijesh Kumar Raju “Secured Childhood” (Munich, Germany).
