The gastronomic brand of Beloyarsk. Residents are voting for the Day of ryapushka
The additional voting for the Day of ryapushka (vendace) is taking place in the settlement Beloyarsk, Priuralskiy district. Residents of the settlement should answer the question if it is necessary to hold the cultural and mass event “The Day of Ryapushka” as a distinctive local feature.
Surroundings of the settlement Sedelnikovo – the current territory of the municipality Beloyarskoye – are the traditional place of the vendace spawning. This species of fish, in some sense, is a totem for local residents. In the 1990-s residents of neighboring settlements arrived for fishing here, what assisted to popularization of the settlement and its development as a place of leisure activities. The local authorities consider that celebration of the Day of Ryapushka is able to become the gastronomic brand of the territory.
“The voting on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation is taking place today, and in parallel, in Beloyarsk we are voting if it is necessary to hold the Day of Ryapushka. People arrive, vote during seven days. About 95% of people have already voted. And basically they vote “for” holding of the holiday”, said the head of the administration of the municipality Beloyarskoye Andrey Ryazanov.
It is supposed to celebrate the holiday every year but without binding to any date. Fulfillment of the project is planned for 2021 at expenses of sponsors’ funds.
