3500 people of Salekhard spent the night in the museum

The Museum-exhibition complex of Ivan Shemanovskiy has participated in the international action "Night of museums" for the 10th time.

3500 inhabitants of Salekhard of all ages became participants of the bright event. This year the holiday has the name "Art-i-Fact". It invited all the people to immerse into reality of the museum, to learn who and how created it and to try to become an employee of the museum. According to the words of the deputy director of the museum Irina Petrischeva, for the first time the museum presented unique authorial excursions, which were conducted by employees of the complex and the scientific center for study of the Arctic. For example, men dressed in uniform of ancient Russian soldiers welcomed visitors of the exposition "Mangazeya: 400 years of the legend". Also scenes of life of people in Mangazeya were showed. For the first time the Book of honorary guests of the Museum-exhibition complex was demonstrated to the wide society. The book includes words of gratitude and wishes. During different time many famous people were guests of the Museum – Vladimir Putin, Artur Chilingarov, Mikhail Piotrovsky, Valentina Matviyenko, Sergey Lavrov. "Museum apocrypha" - the project-mystification welcomed guests of the museum at the entrance, in an unusual form presenting exhibits and legends connected with it. The scientific library presented the project "The ABC of Yamal". Visitors were offered to choose a card with a letter and to draw a picture for this letter but connected with the arctic region. Both children and grownups were involved into this process. Also guests have the opportunity to make video congratulations with the International Museum Day. Concerts were conducted at once on two platforms. The gubernatorial ensemble of national singing "Seetey Yamal" ("Singing Yamal") presented the program "Remember..." within the project "Songs of the Victory". Young singers of Salekhard shared their talent in the conference hall with the program "Spring mood". Little visitors watched cartoons, adolescents tried to be employees of the museum – archeologists, excursion guides, renovators and workers of funds. In the military and historical club it was possible to learn about weapons of the Victory, to put on military uniform and to make a photo in it. Also it was possible to build "The city of the future", to make a model of a dream home of paper and cardboard. Special emotions prevailed in the chamber of fulfillment of dreams "The world of sikhirtya". Many people wished to ask for something from the mysterious people of sikhirtya. (The note – the mythological people in legends of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North). The exhibition of alive butterflies, the ceremony "Art of tea", aqua make-up and souvenirs were very popular. Employees of the Museum-exhibition complex also prepared prizes and different souvenirs for the most active participants of "Night of Museums".
