This year before the most magical New Year’s holiday 75 young travelers from Tyumen Oblast will come for the Arctic fairy tale. From the 21st to the 23rd of December they will travel to the Edge of the Earth.
The program is rich: the guests from the neighboring region will visit the main attractions of Salekhard - the world’s only town located on the Polar Circle. The ceremony of crossing the 66th parallel will turn the children into real polar explorers, in the main Museum of Yamal the children will get acquainted with the world-famous baby mammoth Lyuba and other unique archaeological, historical and ethnographic exhibits of different eras.
In the complex of the town estate the children will learn about life of Obdorsk merchants, and in the historical and architectural complex “Obdorsk Ostrog” (reconstruction of the ancient fortress) they will listen to the story of foundation of the town on the cape. (The note: “Salekhard” means “the settlement on the cape” in Nenets language). The most fortunate will be able to catch a colorful natural phenomenon - the Northern lights or Aurora Borealis.
The young residents from Tyumen Oblast will meet with Yamal Iri – Grandfather Frost of Yamal and will be immersed into the atmosphere of the real Arctic fairy tale. The good wizard has already prepared gifts, tasty treats and games for the guests. The bravest will ride his reindeer sleigh. Also the good wizard Yamal Iri can make cherished dreams come true.
