A chess player from Yamal Alexandra Goryachkina is preparing to new records

A chess player from Salekhard Alexandra Goryachkina will represent Yamal on the team world championship among women.

Now she is actively preparing to the tournament. The competitions will take place in Khanty-Mansiysk from the 18th to the 28th of June. The strongest sportspeople from Georgia, China, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, India, the USA and Vietnam will participate in them. According to the information given to a correspondent of IA “Sever-Press” by Alexander Potapov, the director of the Polar chess school of Anatoly Karpov, recently the grandmaster participated in the team championship of Russia in Sochi. By the results, the team of Yamal consisting of Alexandra Goryachkina, Pavel Potapov, Bogdan Belyakov and Sergey Savitsky won the bronze medal. As we should note, the women’s world championship has been conducted for 5 times. However, Russian chess players were not able to win the first place: 4 times they won the silver medals and one time the bronze medal. Aleksandra Goryachkina is a student of the Polar chess school of Anatoly Karpov, the repeated champion of the world, Europe and Russia among girls and boys. At thirteen years old she became the youngest grandmaster among women in the world. In 2014 the chess player won the title of the world champion among juniors up to 20 years old. In 2015 she won the Cup of Russia among women. This year Alexandra Goryachkina took the second place on the championship of Europe on chess in Riga.
