A chess player from Yamal Alexandra Goryachkina won the golden award on the world championship

For the first time in its history the women’s national team of Russia won the victory on the world championship on chess, which took place in Khanty-Mansiysk. According to the information given to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” by Alexander Potapov, the director of the Polar chess school of Anatoly Karpov, by the results of the competitions, the Russian chess players Alexandra Goryachkina, Alexandra Kostenyuk, Katerina Lagno, Valentina Gunina and Olga Girya received 16 points and became inaccessible for their opponents. The team of China won the silver medals with 13 points; the team of Georgia took the third place. The meeting of the Russian team with the President of the Russian Federation and representatives of the government will take place, and after that the world champion Alexandra Goryachkina will come back home to Salekhard. Aleksandra Goryachkina is a student of the Polar chess school of Anatoly Karpov, the repeated champion of the world, Europe and Russia among girls and boys. At thirteen years old she became the youngest grandmaster among women in the world. In 2014 the chess player won the title of the world champion among juniors up to 20 years old. In 2015 she won the Cup of Russia among women. This year Alexandra Goryachkina took the second place on the championship of Europe on chess in Riga.
