A craftswoman from Salekhard was recognized the master of decorative and applied arts and crafts

Zinaida Longortova from Salekhard became the winner of the decoration "The master of decorative and applied arts and crafts".

This award is given once per year. It is supplemented with the money prize in 80 thousand rubles.

The decision about it was taken by the participants of the sitting of the artistic and expert council on folk artistic crafts and trades of Yamal. The award is a form of encouragement of inhabitants of the arctic region, who make contribution to development and preservation of original art of peoples in Yamal. The decoration is given to support and develop creative individuality and originality of craftspeople, to provide succession of traditions, to stimulate creative activity of talented people, who propagandize art of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North. According to the information given in the regional department of culture, 7 candidatures were presented for the award. Zinaida Longortova received the decoration for high quality and skills in making of items, national esthetics, compositional value and faithfulness to traditions, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs.
