A horizontal well with the length in two kilometers was drilled in Novoportovskoye field

In Novoportovskoye field the company “Gazpromneft-Yamal” drilled a well with the length of a horizontal part of the borehole 2000 meters. Today it is the best index in the group of companies. Construction of the well was completed in 25 days, what is on 18 percent faster than it was planned.

The total length of the well makes 4630 meters; the depth of location of the target formation makes 1831 meters, the efficiency of passage of the well in the productive horizon exceeded 94 percent. Geological information received in the process of drilling allows specifying structure of Novoportovskoye field, what gives the opportunity to use the most effective methods of its development. Construction of production wells is fulfilled within experimental-industrial tests that are included into the technological plan on development of the project “Novy Port”, as the press-service of the company informs. “Gazprom Neft” is one of the leaders of Russian oil industry in the number of constructed high-tech wells. The work of the center for support of drilling in the company allows with high accuracy to carry out horizontal wellbores in target formations, the thickness of which sometimes does not exceed several meters. Developing Novoportovskoye field, the specialists of the company use the newest technologies of drilling and enhancing of oil recovery, which increase efficiency of development and minimize human impact on the environment, as the first deputy director general of “Gazprom Neft” Vadim Yakovlev says.
