A new overview of monitoring of legislation is being presented to nomads

The legal office of the Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East released an overview of changes in legislation of the Russian Federation touching upon rights and interests of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North and the Far East.

Thus, the Ministry of natural resources of the Russian Federation offers to approve a new version of the hunting rules based on law enforcement practices and suggestions of state authorities of subjects of the Russian Federation authorized in the sphere of hunting and preservation of hunting resources.

The text of the new version was sent to the regional offices of the Association to evaluate consideration of interests of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East and to prepare suggestions. The discussions will last till the 18th of May.

On the 15th of May the president of the Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East Grigory Ledkov will hold the online conference with representatives of the specialized Ministry to discuss the version of the hunting rules, as well as a number of other legislative initiatives, as the information service of the Association reports.

It is noted that several important normative and legal acts were approved in Yamal at once. First of all, they include the regulation on the educational certificate for receiving of secondary vocational education by citizens from among indigenous ethnic minorities of the North in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, who together with their parents (legal representatives) lead the traditional way of life of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North in the Autonomous Okrug. 75 educational certificates are granted annually. Secondly, this is the procedure for tagging and accounting in the sphere of reindeer husbandry. Tagging and accounting are fulfilled free of charge on the voluntary basis on applications from citizens and legal entities.
