A representative of Tarko-Salye became the silver prizewinner in the Greco-Roman World Cup

The sportsman from Tarko-Salye Azamat Akhmedov within the Russian team won the silver medal on the Greco-Roman World Cup.

The competitions took place in Iran, Shiraz. 8 strongest teams of the world participated in them. The sub-group of the team of Russia included teams of Germany, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The Russian sportspeople won the victory in all the fights before the final with big advantage. In the final they yielded to the team of Iran and won silver medals of the Greco-Roman World Cup. As the board of informational and analytical researches and public relations at the administration of Purovskiy district informs, Azamat won in all the conducted fights. He is a student of the sports school for children and youth “Victoria”, works as an instructor in the center for sports wrestling. Aleksey Fomin is his coach. All the participants of the Greco-Roman World Cup in Shiraz will participate in the championship of Russia. The Olympic team will be defined by its results. Russian sportspeople won Olympic tickets in all 6 categories of Greco-Roman wrestling. This is the third silver award of Russia on the Greco-Roman World Cup. The tournament has been conducted since 1980; three latest seasons took place in Teheran and later were transferred to Shiraz. The teams of the USSR and Russia won the victory 18 record-breaking times, however in 2014 and 2015 the wrestlers yielded in the final – first to hosts of the competitions, later to representatives of Azerbaijan.
