A universal amphibious all-terrain vehicle was created in Russia for the Arctic

The Concern "Tractor Plants" created a universal amphibious crawler vehicle purposed for transportation of military men in the Arctic. A representative of the press-service of the concern gave this information to TASS.

The universal amphibious transport crawler vehicle TM-140A is purposed for transportation of personnel in conditions of arctic climate, off-road terrain, for providing of transport needs in conditions of off-road terrain, including snowy fields and swampy territories, as the interlocutor of the agency tells. According to his words, complex of technical and ergonomic decisions used in the all-terrain vehicle allows exploiting the machine during long time in autonomic mode. A cabin is a separate module with heat and sound insulation, it installed on rubber shock absorbers and also equipped with heating system and ventilation, as he notes. Besides, on the machine it is possible to set bulletproof protection of the cabin and the module for transportation of personnel and also to mount a machine-gun with remote control, as he tells. Earlier the deputy minister for defense of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Bulgakov informed that till the end of the year the Russian Army would put new crawler and motor vehicles on service. These vehicles were tested this winter in the Subarctic. The talk is about 15 kinds of machines, including army snowmobiles, multipurpose motor vehicles and two-section crawler transporters.
