About two thousand workplaces for people with disabilities were made in Yamal

In Salekhard in the mode of videoconference a deputy governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Tatiana Buchkova conducted the extended sitting of the coordinating council on affairs of people with disabilities. By her words, much was done for people with disabilities in the region during the latest years, but the row of problems still stays.

In particular, this is the issue of job placement of people with disabilities. According to the information given by the first deputy director of the regional department of employment Alexander Pilyak, 184 people with disabilities appealed to the service of employment of population for assistance in job placement. 71 people have already received work. Now about 2000 new workplaces for people with disabilities were made in the region, about 1000 of them are still vacant. By the words of Alexander Pilyak, last year the survey was conducted among people with disabilities. In the results the following information was received: 84 percent of them need job placement, 53 percent of them do not have professional education, and 45 percent of them expressed the desire to receive professional education. The director of the regional department on social protection of population Yelena Karpova presented the results of the questionnaire survey, which was conducted among people with disabilities and their parents. The action was conducted within preparation of the report about measures being taken in the region for fulfillment of the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. More than 700 people of Yamal participated in the survey. In the result, about 60 percent of the participants are satisfied with rendered services, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs.
