Accelerated startup of lines of “Yamal LNG” will increase output of products

In 2018 - 2019 NOVATEK will deliver 8 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas above the plan due to commissioning of lines of the plant “Yamal LNG” ahead of the schedule. This information was given to journalists by the head of the company Leonid Mikhelson.

“We were going to input the second line to operation at the end of 2018 and the third line - at the end of 2019. But if we input the third line to operation on the 1st of January, it means plus 5 million and 500 thousand tonnes, if we input the second line to operation 4 months ahead of the schedule, it means plus 2.5 - 3 million tonnes. If to calculate, we shall sell about 8 million tonnes in excess of the planned amount”, he said. Earlier the head of NOVATEK told that the second stage of the plant “Yamal LNG” would be input to operation in early August, and the third - in the beginning of 2019, as TASS reports. The first line started operating on the 8th of December of 2017; about 3 million tonnes of products have been already shipped from it. “Yamal LNG” is the plant on liquefying of gas. This is a project of NOVATEK. It is being fulfilled on the basis of the South Tambey field on the Yamal Peninsula and supposes startup of three technological stages on LNG-production with the capacity of more than 5 million and 500 thousand tonnes each per year, as well as the fourth line in 900 thousand tonnes.
