Alexander Novak examined basic objects of building of the plant “Yamal LNG” and the port of Sabetta

After the visit to China the Minister for energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak went with the working visit to Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. He examined basic objects of building of the plant “Yamal LNG” and the port of Sabetta, as the website of the Ministry for energy of the Russian Federation informs. The project “Yamal LNG” on the basis of the South Tambey field supposes construction of three lines on liquefying of gas with the capacity of each 5 million and 500 thousand tonnes of LNG per year. Startup of the first stage is planned this year. The project of the multifunctional port of Sabetta is being fulfilled within “Yamal LNG”; on 29th of March the world’s first tanker - gas carrier of ice class Arc7 “Christophe de Margerie” arrived to the port. It was fueled with the test amount of liquefied natural gas. “Christophe de Margerie” is the first of 15 tankers – gas carriers for the project “Yamal LNG”. The ship is able to operate at temperatures up to 52C degrees below zero, to pass through ice with the thickness of up to 2.1 meters. The capacity of the tanker is 172 thousand and 600 cubic meters of LNG.
