Bucharest is hosting the next presidential board of FIDE, which will review documents of a sportswoman – a chess player from Salekhard Aleksandra Goryachkina to assign her another title - the men’s international grandmaster in chess.

In history of chess only 31 women were awarded with this title. Nineteen-year-old Alexandra will become the youngest international men’s grandmaster. According to the rating, Alexandra Goryachkina for the first time in his career entered the world top ten chess players among women. After the successful performance in the Higher League in Yaroslavl she rose to the sixth place. Among Russian women chess players the sportswoman from Salekhard is on the third place in the rating now. Alexander Potapov, the director of the Polar chess school of Anatoly Karpov, considers that Aleksandra Goryachkina once again “jumped over her head”, and in the last tour even claimed to be qualified for the Super Final of the championship of Russia among men. She played all the matches in such a way that none of the outstanding chess players could beat her: seven draws and two wins. At the end of the men’s tournament the girl took the tenth place, having missed a little for the fifth position, as sportspeople, who took from the first to the fifth place inclusively in the Higher League receive the right to participate in the Super Finals of the Russian championship. Now Alexandra is preparing for the women’s Super Final, which will take place in August in Chelyabinsk Oblast.
