Anastasia Fesikova became the captain of the Olympic team of Russia on swimming

A sportswoman from Yamal, the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in London Anastasia Fesikova was elected the captain of the Olympic team of Russia on swimming within the games in Rio de Janeiro.

All the members of the national team voted for her during a training camp in Bulgaria. “It’s nice that the team had such confidence in me. Before the meeting I was asked, if I was ready to become the captain, I said that if elected, I would be ready. When my candidature was put forward for this position, everyone voted unanimously. I cannot say that now something has changed and that I feel great burden of responsibility. I’ve always helped everybody before, if there was a need”, as Anastasia Fesikova said in the interview to the press-service of the Russian Swimming Federation. The head coach of the Russian national team on swimming and open water swimming Sergey Kolmogorov believes that Anastasia Fesikova has all the qualities of the team leader. “Anastasia is a born leader, who is respected and who is listened to. Her opinion is objective and balanced. She has excellent organizational skills, which she displayed many times”, as the head coach says.
