The Arc7 ice-class tanker “Boris Davydov” went to the Norwegian port of Honningsvag. This is the ninth vessel in the fleet of the project “Yamal LNG” belonging to NOVATEK. Movement of the tanker is evidenced by the data of the global positioning system of ships. It left the port of Sabetta on the 27th of January and plans to arrive in the Norwegian port on the 31st of January, as the Agency of oil and gas information reports.

As we should remind, “Yamal LNG” fulfills the project on construction of the plant for liquefying of natural gas on the basis of the South-Tambey field. The shareholders are: NOVATEK - 50.1%, Total - 20%, CNPC - 20% and the Silk Road Fund - 9.9%. Three technological lines with the capacity 5 million 500 thousand tonnes each were built within the project, the additional fourth line with the capacity almost 1 million tonnes is being built.

In total, the project will require 15 tankers of Arc7 ice class. In addition to the ship “Boris Davydov” LNG is transported on the Arc7 ice class tankers “Georgiy Brusilov”, “Christophe de Margerie”, “Boris Vilkitsky”, “Eduard Toll”, “Fyodor Litke”, “Vladimir Rusanov”, “Rudolf Samoylovich” and “Vladimir Vize”.

However, in summer “Yamal LNG”, due to the launch of the second technological line ahead of the schedule and the expected faster launch of the third line, appealed to the owners of vessels of its fleet to accelerate delivery of tankers. In early August the head of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson reported that the shipyard and ship owners heard the company’s request, then its fleet consisted of five tankers, and by the end of 2018 “Yamal LNG” received four Arc7 tankers and will receive one in January 2019.
