The visitors of the exhibition saw photographs of the island before and after conducting of the work on cleaning the territory from technogenic garbage, video materials of the ecological expeditions, which had taken place in 2012 and 2013 on Beliy Island by the initiative of the governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitriy Kobylkin. Photographs of Nenets sacred cult places also were demonstrated. The schoolchildren received information about the scientist, who had studied the North, a scientific employee of the All-Union Arctic Institute (the note: now it is the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute), a topographer and an ethnographer-economist Vladimir Yevladov. He made big contribution to studying of the Yamal peninsula. The children learnt that the scientist had made the first detailed maps of Yamal and Beliy Island. The first Russian-Nenets dictionary was made on the basis of studying the language of Nenets reindeer herders. During the exhibition the children heard legends and true stories connected with Beliy Island: about the convoy "The White Sea – Dikson 5", about the ship "Marina Raskova" and a German submarine, legends about "Seru Iriku" (the note: it means "The white grandfather", the spirit protecting the island), about rescuing of people on the island by the pilot Mikhail Kozlov. A scientific employee of the museum Aleksey Salinder showed photographs and told about work of volunteers on cleaning of Beliy Island from industrial garbage and also organized a hike to tundra to show fragility of nature of Yamal.
