Copies of the Victory Banner will be delivered from Salekhard to six foreign countries

On the 18th of April in the main museum of Yamal schoolchildren, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of public organizations made copies of the Victory Banner – the flag of the 150th Rifle Division.

Soldiers of the Soviet Army hoisted the flag on the first of May of 1945 on the roof of the building of the Reichstag in Berlin. Copies of the Victory Banner will be sent to Bulgaria, Norway, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Armenia. The deputy director of the department of international and external economic relations of Yamal Alexander Ivanov tells that compatriots applied to the government of the region with the request to send them a copy of the Victory Banner. The patriotic action “The Victory Banner” being conducted in Yamal since 2015 found response in hearts of compatriots not only in Russia but also abroad, as he notes. The worker of home front Mikhail Balashov participated in the Patriotic action. A copy of the Victory Banner, which he made, will be sent to Belarus, where he did military service. The war began when he was 12 years old, but he was not sitting without work: plowed land, helped grownups. According to his words, this is a very useful and necessary action for the younger generation. In the region the large-scale patriotic action “The Victory Banner” was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It was organized by the party “Yedinaya Rossiya” with support of the governor Dmitry Kobylkin and the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The first copy of the Victory Banner was made by the head of the region, it started the patriotic project. “The action “The Victory Banner” is a tribute to our grandfathers and fathers, who gave their lives for us to live in peace", as Dmitry Kobylkin said in the message to people of Yamal.
