Crimean shipyards can be loaded with orders for the Arctic

The Ministry for industry and trade of the Russian Federation elaborates the program on work-loading of ship-building enterprises in the Republic of Crimea and the town Sevastopol. The opportunity of orders for building of tankers for use in the Arctic is being scrutinized.

Now shipyards in Crimea are idle or work part-time, as IA "Arktika-Info" informs. The Ministry considers the opportunity to form the package of orders for building of tankers – gas carriers for transportation of liquefied natural gas from arctic fields of Russia as one of variants to solve this problem. The initiative is being discussed with "Sovkomflot", "Gazprom" and "NOVATEK". The ships of such parameters (299.9 meters in the length and 50 meters in the width) can be built already now in the JSC Zaliv Shipyard. During the live call-in show the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed high assessment of potential of ship-building and ship-repairing capacities of Crimea. As we should remind, NOVATEK is busy with fulfillment of the project on production of liquefied natural gas "Yamal LNG" on the base of the South-Tambey gas condensate field. In April Gazprom extracted the first consignment of oil on the platform "Prirazlomnaya" in the Pechora Sea.
