Deliveries of gas on long-term contracts were started from “Yamal LNG”

Deliveries of liquefied natural gas on long-term contracts have been started since the first of April from the plant “Yamal LNG”. It was announced by the chairman of the board of the company “NOVATEK” Leonid Mikhelson.

“Yamal LNG” builds the plant on liquefying of natural gas in three stages on 6 million and 500 thousand tonnes per year each on the base of the South-Tambey field. The first stage was started up at the end of 2017 – since the beginning of the year the plant has managed to send three consignments of liquefied natural gas with the total amount 221300 tonnes. In the first quarter of this year the plant exported 1 million and 262 thousand tonnes of LNG by 17 tankers, as Leonid Mikhelson notes. He did not announce the first purchasers on the long-term contract. In his opinion, there is an opportunity to control the fact that contracts on LNG deliveries would be tied to definite markets, as “Vedomosti” informs. As Leonid Mikhelson explains, he is for it, in order to avoid crossing of Russian liquefied gas and pipe gas on ones and the same markets; the company is interested in it. NOVATEK counts that the startup of the second stage of the plant “Yamal LNG” will take place in September of 2018, as rns.online informs.
