Designing of the bridge across the Ob River will be started next year

Designing of the bridge across the Ob River between the town Salekhard and Labytnangi - the key object of the Northern Latitudinal Railway – will be started next year.

The authorities of Yamal plan to build the combined motor-road and railroad bridge across the Ob River also at the expenses of budgetary funds of the region. According to the agreements between the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Russian Railways, allocation of the money from the regional budget for financing of the motor-road part of the bridge will be started in the end of 2019. The regional authorities plan that building of objects of the Northern Latitudinal Railway, first of all, the railroad line “Bovanenkovo –Sabetta”, will be started in 2018. Its cost is estimated in more than 8 milliard rubles, as arctic-info.ru informs. As we should remind, within the recent press-conference President of Russia Vladimir Putin marked significance and necessity of the project for economy of the country. According to his words, it will diversify the whole transport system, will unload the burden on the Trans-Siberian Railway and will give the opportunity to send cargoes to the port of Sabetta, which is being built now.
