Development of unique deposits of Messoyakha demands for non-standard approaches

Accumulated extraction in the East-Messoyakhskoye field exceeded 5 million tonnes of oil. To achieve this result the company “Messoyakhaneftegaz” spent a little more than 1.5 years of industrial exploitation of the deposit.

According to the information given in the interview with the Agency of oil and gas information by the director general of the company “Messoyakhaneftegaz” Viktor Sorokin, unique deposits, with which it is impossible to work on standard technologies, are developed in Messoyakha. There is not much accumulated experience on work with such strata in the world, after each uncertainty removed in Messoyakha two new appear. The company strives effectively to control changes and to follow the planned vector, as Viktor Sorokin notes. According to him, uncertainties touch upon issues on work of terrestrial infrastructure, equipment on wells and effectiveness of use of some technologies. But the main segment of uncertainties is connected with structure of reserves. There is not enough information on this issue. The company develops maximum 30 percent of the territory of the licensed area now, and to fill the data gap for further development it conducts the aggressive program of geological prospecting work, which allows calculating activities on several steps forward, as the director general notes. It is possible to work with difficult reserves only at permanent increase in the level of technological effectiveness. Last year in Messoyakha was spent under the sign of “fishbones” – constructions of wells with several branches, which considerably increase coefficient of coverage of scattered oil-saturated interlayers. The enterprise input to operation 14 such wells. This year their number will make 21. According to Viktor Sorokin, the company does not just stamp “fishbones” but develops the technology, works on increase in number of branches in a well. Earlier 4-6 branches were drilled. In 2018 the company will try to drill 10. In addition, last year the company built the country’s first well with 5 cased boreholes on the level of complexity TAML-3, a horizontal well with two pilot boreholes and two sidetracks with high index of complexity, as Viktor Sorokin says.
