Dmitry Artyukhov gave awards to volunteers of the action “We are together”
On the 27th of June, the Youth Day, the governor of Yamal Dmitry Artyukhov met with volunteers of the regional headquarters of the all-Russian action “We are together” and presented them with celebration medals. For 3 months more than 850 people from all over the region have joined the action - medical volunteers, members of the All-Russia People’s Front, volunteer organizations, mothers with many children from the public organization “Family of the Arctic” and just caring residents of the region.
The volunteers delivered food and medicines to elderly people, helped them pay their bills and delivered food packages for schoolchildren and kindergarten children. In total, more than 14 thousand applications were completed; more than 2 thousand of them were received via the helpline or the mobile app of the All-Russia People’s Front.
“I sincerely want to thank you for your work. I am glad that residents of Yamal have joined the all-Russian movement, which is very good and correct. You help those who need it. And we will continue providing necessary support for the movement to develop and become stronger”, the governor said.
The volunteers not only fulfilled requests for delivery, but also tried to bring joy to those people, who found themselves in isolation: they baked pies for doctors and elderly people, collected bouquets and organized concerts.
“During the action we have seen that there is “a boomerang of good”. The care that the volunteers provide to elderly people returned to them. We have many such examples. Our participants got acquainted with many people. When the coronavirus is over, I am sure they will all continue communicating and visiting them as friends”, said Natalia Tsybulkina, the press-secretary of the Yamal headquarters of the action “We are together”.
Dmitry Artyukhov presented the volunteers with celebration medals “For selfless contribution to organizing of the all-Russian mutual aid action - We are together”. This is the first part of the awards. Volunteers from other municipalities will also be awarded with medals, as the press service of the head of the region reports.
