Excavations on the sacred place Ust-Poluy will last two or three years more

The yearly full-scale archeological excavations will start this summer in Yamal. They will take place on the territory of Priuralskiy, Yamalskiy and Nadym districts, in a historical part of the town Salekhard and on other objects.

This information was given by the chief scientific employee of the scientific center for exploration of the Arctic Andrey Gusev to journalists. By his words, archeological expeditions will start in June and will last till August. Archeologists, researchers, scientists and anthropologists from Tomsk, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk will go to the expeditions. This year the scientists will continue using the new unique method – magnetic survey. It will be tested on such archeological monuments as Zelyoniy Yar, Gorniy Samotnel and the ancient settlement Yarte-6. Also researches on the ancient sacred place Ust-Poluy will be continued. At that, Andrey Gusev notes that in total the excavations on the archeological monument will take several years more. Later it is planned to set the museum in the open air here.
