For the first time Yamal is presenting arctic fast-food on the international exhibition in Berlin

The traditional 80th International agricultural exhibition "Green Week 2015" is taking place in Berlin.

The governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitriy Kobylkin is the head of the delegation of Yamal. Products of agro-industrial complex of Nadym district are being presented by the head of its administration Stanislav Shegurov.

Yamal has been a permanent participant of the exhibition since 2003. During this time it managed to set strong business relations with representatives of European countries on advancement of products of agro-industrial complex of the region to markets of countries of the EU. This year the exposition of Yamal is being placed on the area in 100 square meters. The row of fish-processing and reindeer-herding enterprises is presenting their products on the exhibition (Gorki consumer society, "Pur-Ryba", "Salekhard fish-canning plant", "Yamalskiye Oleni", "Nyda-resource"). Dishes of wild plants – berries, mushrooms and cedar nuts are being presented to Europeans in addition to products of reindeer husbandry and fishery. People of Yamal also brought products exotic for the Arctic – potatoes, lemons and honey. For the first time on "Green Week" it is possible to taste ecological, curative food products invented by scientists of the scientific center for study of the Arctic. They include, for example, arctic sweets consisting of components of low birch (Betula humilis), black shiksha (crowberry), fireweed herb, Siberian larch and pine, reindeer moss, sphagnum and red rowan-berries. This sweet dish increases adaptive capacities of people, who are subjected to significant mental and physical stress, reduces speed of glucose absorption (that is important for prevention from overweight and diabetes), renders antioxidant influence, increases resistance to respiratory viral infections. Tundra bread of brown sphagnum removes toxic and allergenic products from organism, normalizes digestion, causes a sense of prolonged fullness and has an adaptogenic effect during magnetic storms, during mental and physical stress. This information is given in the informational and analytical board of the district administration. Innovative projects planned for inculcation in agricultural activity in the near future are being presented within the exhibition beside products being manufactured in Yamal.
