Gazprom and BASF/Wintershall evaluated development of extractive fields in Yamal

The working meeting of the chairman of the board of “Gazprom” Aleksey Miller and a member of the board of BASF SE, the chairman of the Supervisory Board at Wintershall Holding GmbH Hans-Ulrich Engel took place within the sixth St. Petersburg International Gas Forum. They discussed joint production projects.

In particular, they highly appreciated development of Yuzhno-Russkoye and Urengoyskoye fields. On the fourth of October this year the accumulated amount of gas production in Yuzhno-Russkoye field reached about 210 milliard cubic meters. Aleksey Miller and Hans-Ulrich Engel reviewed issues of bilateral cooperation in gas sector, paying special attention to deliveries of Russian gas to Germany, gas transportation routes from Russia to Europe. The talk was about the project “Nord stream 2”. Wintershall Holding GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BASF working in the sphere of exploration and extraction of oil and gas during more than eighty years. Gazprom and BASF/Wintershall interact in extraction, transportation, storage and sale of natural gas. Yuzhno-Russkoye oil, gas, condensate field is one of the largest in Russia; it is located in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Development of the field is conducted by the company “Severneftegazprom” - the joint enterprise of Gazprom (40%), Wintershall (35%) and Uniper (25%), as it is reported on the portal gazprom.ru. Development of area 1A of Achimov deposits in Urengoyskoye oil, gas, condensate field is conducted by “Achimgaz” – the joint enterprise of the companies “Gazprom dobycha Urengoy” and Wintershall on the parity basis.
