Gazprom increases amount of geological prospecting in Yamal

The territory of Yamal, shelves of the Kara Sea and the Barents Sea are key and basic for Gazprom. This information was given in Tyumen on the second scientific and practical conference "New technologies of search for oil and gas" by Vadim Rybalchenko, the chief of the board on development of mineral and raw material base at the department on extraction of gas, gas condensate and oil at the company "Gazprom".

Gazprom owns 239 licenses for subsoil use. Geological prospecting is conducted on 119 of them. Current gas reserves make 35 trillion and 700 milliard cubic meters of gas. Increase during 10 years made 9 trillion and 700 milliard cubic meters of gas, 6 trillion and 700 milliard of which are increase owing to geological prospecting. By the words of Vadim Rybalchenko, the figures are impressive and require for serious work and expenditures for supporting of reserves on such level. By his words, amounts of geological prospecting in Yamal will grow considerably. According to the three-year program, which defines tactical tasks of the company, big amount of work is foreseen in Yamal. This year 7 rigs will drill in Tambey group of fields. Research work in acting extractive fields – within the limits of Yamburg, Urengoy and Nadym areas – will be continued, as he notes. By the data of the director general of "Gazprom geologorazvedka" Aleksey Davydov, during the coming years on the territory of Yamal it is planned to drill about 20 wells. As he notes, first of all, active work is conducted in Tambey group of fields. Besides, it is planned to work on Antipayuta licensed area. The company "Gazprom geologorazvedka" provides conducting of the whole complex of geological prospecting on search for new fields and deposits of hydrocarbons on land and the shelf of Russia, seriously studies geological structure, prospects of oil- and gas-bearing capacity of the Gydan peninsula – themes with attracting of research institutes were ordered, as Aleksey Davydov notes.
